Who You Are

“Let yourself be in the emotion, go through it, give into it, experience it. You begin to go toward the emotion, rather than just experiencing the emotion coming toward you. A relationship, a dance begins to develop. Then the most powerful energies become absolutely workable rather than taking you over, because there is nothing to take you over if you are not putting up any resistance . . . the music and the dance take place at the same time. This is the lion’s roar.”

Awareness and compassion are universally applicable principles, and I’ll work with whatever you might want to bring into our sessions. That said, certain themes come up repeatedly among my clients.

You may feel drawn to this work if you:

  • Have worked through years of therapy, coming to intimate terms with your past, and feel ready for the next step
  • Long to express your unique creative being, yet feel paralysed by fear, numbness or confusion
  • ‘Have it all’ in your life, and yet keep thinking, ‘There must be something more’
  • Struggle as a spiritual practitioner with real-life issues and emotions
  • Feel cut off from the deeper aspects of your being
  • Wrestle with dark and difficult emotions: grief, despair, anger, fear, self-loathing
  • Yearn for an initiation into the depths of your own nature — a rite of passage that often coincides with midlife
  • Find yourself dealing with painful life transitions, and are willing to ask the hard questions:
    ‘What really matters?’
‘What do I need to learn?’
‘How can I grow through this?’
